Open-air Rodin museum: The Sculpture Garden is open!
Good news at last! Since mid-January, the Rodin Museum, located about twenty minutes on foot from your Hotel Eiffel Blomet, has reopened its Sculpture Garden. There, in addition to admiring the most famous works of the great Auguste Rodin, you can exult in the peaceful and bucolic surroundings of this green retreat in the heart of Paris.
The Sculpture Garden, an exceptional place
Walking amidst the three hectares of this exquisite green space, you’ll almost feel the presence of the master sculptor. That’s because the Hôtel de Biron, a magnificent 18th century private mansion and its extensive park, became the artist’s home in the early 20th century. Rodin set up his studio there and began to place some of his creations and antiques from his personal collection in what was then an overgrown garden.
Visit the Sculpture Garden
Leave the hustle and bustle of the street and stroll along the long gravel paths, admire the pools and immerse yourself in the fragrant splendour of the rose garden. As you wander, you’ll see such renowned masterpieces as the Thinker, the Burghers of Calais, the Gates of Hell, and Ugolino and His Sons. You will also discover the lovely Aphrodite stretching gracefully in a grove. What’s more, this haven is unexpectedly rich in flora and fauna and it’s not uncommon to see a rabbit scurrying off as you approach. Combining a cultural trail and a tranquil stroll, a visit to the Sculpture Garden is always a wonderful experience.
The Sculpture Garden of the Rodin Museum is open every day except Monday. See the master's greatest works and discover this green space which inspired him and offered a unique setting for his creativity.
