Paris, the cultural side
As Fashion Week draws to a close, the Musée Galliera takes over with an exciting exhibition dedicated to a key year in contemporary fashion: 1997. Bing Bang Fashion will open to the public on March 7th. The same date marks the launch of the commemorations of the 50th anniversary of the passing of Pablo Picasso. Rather than yet another retrospective, the Musée National Picasso has invited artists and other creators to pay tribute to the Catalan genius. Finally, at the very end of March, don't miss the major event for contemporary art: the Art Paris Art Fair. It takes place less than 20 minutes’ walk from the Hotel Eiffel Blomet.
And the sports side
There’s plenty of sporting excitement in the capital, too! Get warmed up with the Harmonie Mutuelle half-marathon on March 5th. It’s a 21.1 km race from the Château de Vincennes to the Parc Floral. From March 17th to 19th, the Grand Palais Éphémère hosts the Saut Hermès. Three days of thrilling show jumping bringing together the best riders and horses. The same weekend, France takes on Wales at the Stade de France for the closing match of the Six Nations Tournament.
